Flat Stanley Visits China pt. 2 -- Stanley and the Taxi

Flat Stanley decided to see a few interesting things in Beijing.  He went to Tian An Men Square, but it was too dark to take a picture of him there.  He tried to get a taxi driver to take him from Tian An Men Square to the Temple of Heaven, but he had a few problems.  He stood on the edge of the road and waved his hand whenever a taxi went past.  At first, he was confused because none of the taxis would stop.  Then he realized that many of the taxis were already carrying people.  He could see that empty taxis had a red light showing that someone could hire them.  But even the taxis with a red light ignored him.  He was a little frustrated, but Beijing people are really warm hearted.  After a few minutes, a man noticed Stanley's problem and explained why the taxis would not stop.  He said the street that goes past Tian An Men Square is so busy that the taxis are not allowed to pick people up.  The man walked with Stanley to a corner and showed him a good place to stand.  Stanley waited there for a minute, then a taxi with the red light came down the street.  Stanley waved his hand very anxiously, and the taxi stopped!  Finally he got a ride to the Temple of Heaven.

Here's a picture of the Temple of Heaven in the dark.  It was really mysterious there because of the mist.  Stanley walked around through the trees and listened to people playing music.  He really enjoyed it!
