Keeping busy

Here are the projects I've been working on this week...
Prep work for the Relief Society Retreat on Saturday is well under way.  I have 70+ clippie kits assembled, booklets printed and assembled, and all the sets sorted and put together with names on them.  It's taken several hours, but now it should be no more than one more hour probably before I'm ready to walk out the door :)  That's a big stress off my shoulders.

I've done the shopping trip to get ready for Lizzie's birthday on Saturday also, but I can't show any pictures cause I don't want to spoil her surprise!

Here's a project that's been "in the works" for a month or so :P
These mod-podged clothespins are for nursery at church.  The children who will be moving into the older class next year have a sunshine on their clips, the ones who will still be in nursery have a star.  Helps when we're trying to sort them out by age ;)  We'll use them to clip up their art work if they're finished early -- and so the parents know which room to pick their child up in.

Random silly pictures.  I love how blue Kate's eyes are in this one!
Here Kate was taking a picture (that's why it's blurry) and wanted us to be silly :)

Remember Sabrina's swollen eyes and nasty cough?  Well on Monday I took her in to the doctor because the cough was SO nasty.  Then I took her to get some blood work done.  Yesterday morning the doctor called back to tell us that Sabrina has mono!  It's not likely to be a major issue, except we need to be gentle with her belly just in case her spleen becomes enlarged.  Since she's so young it's not likely to be as awful as a teenager with the bug.  And she's less likely to ever get it again.
You can really see the bags under her eyes in this picture ^.

I've also hulled, sliced, froze, and stored 16 pounds of strawberries this week.  And lost another battle with my food processor.  I got quite a slice on my finger this time.  I gotta wear gloves while dealing with that monster!

Now it's time to address the next major project:  dinner  ;)

Thee... ny thongue ith icky

Got thrush again after that last round of cipro. Not a big surprise, but still not nice. My whole tongue feels burned. I guess that's the best way to describe it.

But, the fun thing is this: I get to go to Vermont!!!! I'm leaving LATE tomorrow night (if we leave 5 minutes late we'll be leaving on Friday morning, lol). I'm so excited to see my sis and her family. The last time I saw them all was a week before Kate was born. Yeah, that's nearly 7 years. I only get to stay until Sunday afternoon, but I'm really excited all the same :) Of course I'll have to take some pictures and all that :)

Tonight Michael brought me some nachos from Betos. I love Betos nachos. Alas, the box tipped and the toppings slid around. Half of the guacamole smeared all over the outside of everything else. Not so lovely actually. Oh well, the rest tastes good.

My belly seems to be improving with the new treatment. A happy belly seems to irritate the kidneys less and I've managed nearly 48 hours without a lortab! I have an appointment with the urologist on Monday so I'm gonna see what we can do about kicking those stones out once and for all.

Don't think I have anything else to say really. I finally have a post for the Tilly's Bowtique blog. I've been such a slacker. Now I'm just gonna find some random picture to add here. I hate not having a picture....

I'm Back... more or less

Okay, so it's been a while. Monday I had an appointment with the Urologist. Kidney stones had moved a bit and I have another infection. Goody. Tuesday was the lithotripsy early in the morning. Doc said it went well. I have a follow-up appointment in a couple of weeks to make sure they're cleared out. Well, me being who I am, I was fully loaded on pain killers when I went home. I spent the rest of the day mostly asleep. I hurt quite a bit. Okay, a LOT. The percocet helped at least. Unfortunately I also couldnt' keep anything down.
So eventually everyone else went to bed. I think I remember a point where Michael kept waking me up cause I was breathing strangely. At one point in the night I got up and threw up some more and decided to take my temperature. 102.8. By morning I was below 101, so I didn't worry too much about it. By late Wednesday I was finally able to keep food, and more importanly - water, down.
Now it's friday evening. I'm mostly off the pain meds, which is good. I am still running a low fever and the nausea has dialed itself up again. I have kept food down today, but mostly cause I haven't eaten much.
Anyway, that's my excuse for not being around much. For a day and a half I didn't even touch the computer. That's serious for me :P

On a less squeamish side of things: I did sell a few yards of ribbon to one woman (and made about $.40) and sold a set of valentine's day necklace pendats to another woman for a birthday party. Since I was drug free (well, pain med free at least) today I got to drive them to the post office even :) The pendants made me some actual money. I also submitted my online form to The Quilted Bear today. I should hear back within about a week to know if they're going to let me rent a booth.

Sorry we missed sayikng Happy Birthday yesterday Momma-Lee. I was still rather out of it and didn't get around to processing what the date was. Happy Late Birthday! Love ya!

Time to go feed the masses. XO
