Temple Square

On Saturday our little family visited Temple Square in Salt Lake.  Michael's twin sisters Janice and Jennifer came with us.  We had been planning to go on Friday but changed our plans.  As luck would have it the weather was gorgeous on Friday, then pretty blustery a bit rainy, and cloudy on Saturday.  Oh well, we had a great time anyway!

(For those non-LDS friends, this is Temple Square)

In the upper left hand corner you can see the one bit of blue sky we saw the whole time :P
The gardens were beautiful, of course.  They still have some tulips out, though they're changing over to the next batch of flowers.
Touching the temple!
Make a wish! And pictures with Jan and Jenn.
Kate with a pair of Sister Missionaries, and reading about statues outside and dioramas with videos inside.  The technology is now a far cry from when I was little.  I remember the telephones where you picked up the receiver to listen to the stories.  Now there are touch screens and videos and all sorts of stuff!
The Christus.  I love this statue.  It has been ages since we've come to Temple Square (a shame since we live close enough to do it more often!) so this was like new to the girls.  They loved this circular room with the universe painted on the wall and the large statue of Christ.
This bench is out the door past the Christus and around a ways down the hall.  It just so happens to be where Michael proposed to me 10 years ago this July!  (We may be off by a few feet one way or the other, but this is pretty close to the exact spot.)
And this is the difference 10 years can make. :)

To finish up, here's the crazy picture I took this morning.  That is SNOW.  Tomorrow is supposed to be Field Day at school for Kate.  They were planning to do water games!  Perhaps she should wear her snow pants ;)

Love to see all the cute pictures. It sure was a fun time! Thanks for inviting us (and sorry we changed it to Saturday, instead of Friday, when it was sunny...)
